Alice in Wonderland 2010 Trailer
The new Alice in Wonderland 2010 Trailer has been out for several weeks now, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it. After hearing that another version of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass was being made, I was initially turned off. The animated Disney version from the 1950’s was one of my favorite movies to watch when I was a little kid, but there are also tons of terrible Alice movies in existence that are boring and unimaginative. After seeing the new trailer though, I started to get a little more excited about the project.
The new trailer shows off how well the production team has blended live action sequences with computer animation. Watching the preview, it is somewhat difficult for an average person to distinguish what is real, and what is animated, which is a perfect way to portray Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Based on what I’ve seen in the Alice in Wonderland 2010 Trailer, I’m expecting the final product to be beautiful, entertaining, and a bit disorienting.
The trailer shows Alice falling down the rabbit hole, drinking a clear liquid from a small bottle, hanging out with the Mad Hatter, walking with Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee, and it shows the Cheshire Cat staring charismatically into the camera. Many of the shots are reminiscent of the 1951 Disney cartoon, but the new version is slightly creepier and shows a much higher level of detail. One complaint that an Alice fan could make is that Alice is a lot older in the newer version than she has been portrayed in any of the other books or movies about her. We’ll have to see how well this plays out when the movie is released in March of 2010.
