Facts About Oranges
Oranges are a somewhat infinitely interesting fruit. Only those who are holy know all of the possible interesting facts about oranges, but here is a starter list to help you on your way to godliness:
Fact #1 – Oranges are considered a citrus fruit like lemons, limes, and grapefruits!
Fact #2 – You can Crush an orange in your garbage disposal to get rid of those nasty garbage disposal smells! However, putting them in your garbage disposal, as opposed to eating them, is probably a pretty big waste of fruit flavors.
Fact #3 – Oranges are an excellent source of vitamin C, antioxidants, and fiber!
Fact #4 – Oranges have never been used to create orange paint pigments!
Fact #5 – Oranges are used in a giant “Battle of the Oranges” at a yearly festival in Ivrea, Italy. Supposedly the festival is meant to recreate some sort of medieval battle that took place in Ivrea, but that is just an excuse for tons of drunk people to pelt each other with oranges.
Fact #6 – Orange juice is the state beverage of Florida.
Fact #7 – Although the lead singer of Gwar, Oderus Urungus, has a name that sounds like it has something to do with oranges, the name actually has nothing to do with oranges whatsoever.
Fact #8 – Christopher Columbus is credited with bringing orange seeds to the North American continent.
